Who we are
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant in New York to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Senior Manager, the individual will be a critical part of the end to end accounting process and will be responsible for performing month-end close activities and reconciling general ledger accounts. This position will collaborate with stakeholders across the entire organization and play a key role in driving some of the most important strategic decisions we make.
The ideal candidate must be intellectually curious, detail-oriented and be able to identify solutions to complex problems. Must also have a firm foundation in accounting with strong technical skills to guide business decisions that will have material impacts across the business and should have the capacity to take a hands on approach when needed.

Why Attentive needs you

  • Review daily transactions including general ledger and bank entries
  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting policies and monthly reporting deadlines
  • Drive continuous improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and controls
  • Work with team to ensure successful completion of year end audit by providing analysis and supporting documentation
  • Work with various departments to ensure that all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely matter
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects outside of daily responsibilities

About you

  • Thorough technical knowledge of accounting
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA preferred (or in process of taking CPA exams)
  • Experience with big 4 preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, index and array formulas, etc)
  • Experience with Oracle Netsuite Preferred
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and mindful of deadlines
  • Highly motivated and willing to take on extra responsibility
  • Motivated to achieve team goals under pressure in a fast-paced working environment
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance numerous diverse projects simultaneously
  • 3+ years of related accounting experience in private industry or public accounting

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000 - $125,000 annually + equity + benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location
