Looking for a data systems engineer who will resolve critical issues and optimize data workflows at Crunch Fitness - Undefeated Tribe.

Undefeated Tribe is an official franchise of Crunch Fitness based in Austin, TX. The Undefeated Tribe is expanding the Crunch Fitness brand across Texas and Oklahoma over the next two years and will be inviting over 500 individuals to join their team to help their community experience fitness, wellness, relaxation, and recovery.

Position Overview

The Data Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure and systems to support the organization’s data needs. This role involves working with other stakeholders to ensure data availability, integrity, and security. The Data Systems Engineer will also optimize data workflows and processes to enhance performance and scalability.

• You will be one of our first external hires within our small technical platform team and a key component in the development of our systems architecture to enable the next phase of our growth.
• You will work across various applications, tools, and external APIs that make up our current technology platform that powers our business.
• In addition to helping develop and architect our platform, you will also be a key player in building out a scalable systems organization.
• Success in this role will be embodied by innovative solutions that enable the business to scale with minimal technical debt rapidly.

Responsibilities

• Data Infrastructure Development: Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Develop, test, and maintain data architecture (databases, data warehouses, and data lakes). Ensure data systems are optimized for performance and reliability.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources including databases, APIs, and third-party systems. Facilitate data access and integration.
• Database Management: Manage and maintain MySQL databases. Implement and monitor database backup, recovery, and security procedures. Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing.
• Data Quality and Governance: Implement data quality checks and validation processes. Develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues. Document data systems architecture, processes, and procedures.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging data technologies and industry trends. Recommend and implement improvements to data systems and processes. Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or resolve critical issues.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years experience working in systems, information technology, data engineering, or similar technical capacity.
• 2+ years experience serving as a technical lead within an organization or leading software/data/systems engineering teams.
• Advanced proficiency in MySQL/SQL.
• Advanced proficiency in Python.
• Experience working with data models, data warehouses, and mitigating data leaks.
• Experience building data pipelines between external applications and APIs.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes.
• Familiarity with cloud data storage and serverless computing infrastructure (Ex. GCP, AWS, Snowflake) and their data services.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with UKG, Hubspot and Intacct Integration.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with experience working on cross-functional teams to achieve the organization's goals through sharing best practices, understanding other’s work streams, and aligning on priorities.
• Familiarity working with auto-dialer technology (Ex. Five9, NICE inContact, RingCentral).

Physical Requirements

• Requires extended use of computer and peripheral equipment.
• Prolonged stints of sitting working in an office/home office environment.

Education Requirements

• BA/BS degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field required.

Compensation (Salary) $140,000 - 150,000
