Position Overview

Daily Harvest is looking for a Staff Data Engineer to join our Data team. The Data team uses data to create better customer experiences, enable smarter business decisions, and drive innovations company-wide. We do this by providing accurate, actionable analysis, building sophisticated data products, and maintaining a reliable data infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

• Create a roadmap to update Daily Harvest’s data infrastructure as it migrates to Shopify and set a vision for its future
• Manage services (Fivetran, Stitch, Segment) and custom ETL scripts that load raw data into BigQuery
• Partner with stakeholders to build and update analytics-friendly datasets in BigQuery that are documented and tested using dbt
• Work with stakeholders to build new explores and surface new metrics and business logic in our presentation layer, Looker
• Ensure downstream reporting and analytics requirements are considered in technical specifications by Product and Engineering as they complete the Shopify migration and develop new features
• Manage operational data pipelines to support Marketing, Finance and Accounting, and Operations
• Partner with Data Science and Machine Learning to build infrastructure and create processes to deploy data products

Who you are:

• Strong SQL and Python background
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving and constantly evolving high-growth environment
• Looker modeling experience
• Experience with ELT stacks (Fivetran / Stitch, dbt, BigQuery, Looker)
• Experience working with event stream data and Segment
• Experience working with Airflow
• E-commerce experience, especially within a subscription company
• Experience working with Shopify and / or Ordergroove data is a plus
• Prior people management experience and/or experience managing 3P resources a plus

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $177,500 - $202,500. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
