About This Role:
The Area Manager & Studio Manager is a dual-role position responsible for overseeing the operations of two or more Rowan studio locations, while also managing their home studio. The ideal Area Manager candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to drive performance across multiple locations. This role requires balancing strategic oversight with hands-on management to ensure that all studios meet Rowan’s standards for customer service, safety, and operational excellence. We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-obsessed Area Manager to join our team and oversee multiple studio locations. This role reports into a District Manager.

What you'll be doing as an Area Manager:

    Area Management:
  • Oversee the operations of two or more Rowan studio locations, ensuring consistent delivery of celebratory customer service and adherence to Rowan’s Clinical Safety standards and protocols.
  • Visit each studio regularly spending 5 days a week in a studio, to assess performance, provide guidance, and support Assistant Studio Managers in meeting their goals.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and operational reports to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans across all locations.
  • Manage SOP roll outs across all locations.
  • Recruit for open studio positions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between corporate teams and studio locations, ensuring clear communication and execution of company-wide initiatives.
  • Studio Management (Home Location):
  • Customer-obsessed, working on the selling floor shoulder to shoulder with your teams, leading by example and delivering celebratory customer service, ensuring every customer enjoys a joyful and memorable ear piercing experience.
  • Manage the daily operations of the home studio, leading a team of Nurse Piercers and Sales Associates to deliver a joyful, celebratory, and safe ear piercing experience.
  • Drive sales and profitability at the home studio by optimizing product displays, managing inventory, and meeting sales targets.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized studio environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Team Leadership + Development:
  • Lead, coach, and develop Studio Managers and staff across all locations, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that aligns with Rowan’s values.
  • Support Studio Managers in staffing, scheduling, and managing their teams to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for staff, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver Rowan’s high standards of service and safety.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure all studios operate efficiently, with a focus on meeting financial goals, managing expenses, and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Oversee visual merchandising, following corporate guidelines, ensuring that all locations reflect Rowan’s brand and product offerings consistently.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and local laws.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare, analyze and make recommendations on studio sales performance, and customer and operational opportunities, submitting them to the leadership team weekly.
  • Collaborate with the corporate team on marketing strategies, product launches, and other company initiatives to drive growth and brand awareness.
  • Ensure budgets for all locations, track expenses, and financial targets are met.

Experience we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a retail management role for 4-6 years, with multi-location oversight.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams across multiple locations.
  • Big picture mindset, able to anticipate changing needs and comfortable managing change.
  • Competitive and business-driven. There’s not a goal out there you won’t achieve.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a track record of driving sales and operational excellence.
  • Customer-obsessed, you love being on a selling floor with your team leading by example and delivering exceptional, memorable customer experiences.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly related to piercing, is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including regular travel between locations, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient working in Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, and Documents).
  • Analytical skills, including basic retail math, calculating inventory on-hands, tracking sales.
  • The role involves tasks that may include climbing ladders, bending, lifting, pushing, and reaching above and below the waist. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
  • Standing for a full 8-hour shift is a regular part of this role.

  • Compensation: The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $75,000- $80,000.
