parcelLab, the leading post purchase experience platform, is growing internationally, and fast! We're looking for the best talent from across the world to help us bring people and brands closer together. As a digital first company, we offer greater flexibility in working location. Therefore, you can work from one of our offices in London or Munich or remotely within the UK, Germany or Spain!
Now, we are looking for a full-time Customer Engineer with a front-end flair, to join our global Customer Engineering team.
What will you do as a Customer Engineer at Parcellab?
You’ll love the dark arts of code, but hold a passion for working with customers and internal customer-facing teams on complex technical challenges and projects. The map you’ll navigate is vast : from the backend to the frontend, api integrations and message systems, file parsers and exports. Wherever customer specific code or features lurk, you’ll be there.
You’ll also use your in-depth technical knowledge to aid support in complex technical issues. Then, to spark the creative drive , you’ll dream up and create tools that enable our customer teams, driving efficiency and improving processes.
Python and JavaScript are the languages of choice:
- JavaScript: Front-end, Node.js, ES6, Data parsing, APIs, Webhooks, Integrations
- Python: Data parsing, data ingestion, and internal tools.
A Front-end flair?
For this role, a love of the front-end is a must, to work on customer specific styling of our Returns portal and Track and Trace pages along side your usual duties. You’ll need HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills, and be a fan of pixel perfect layouts. Understanding what is under-the-hood of our react plugin is a plus, in order to leverage the data and manipulate it in JS. You’ll help us expand in this area, working with the Front-end and Returns teams to improve processes.

What you need to succeed:

  • BSc in Computer Science or in a similar discipline OR you can demonstrate a strong ability to write and understand code via other means, e.g. self-taught, Coding Bootcamp participants
  • HTML / CSS / JS and a working knowledge of front-end frameworks and node.js, at least 2 years experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Putting your skills to the test - we will give you a small technical challenge as part of the interview process.

Other Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in customer-facing roles is an advantage, as we liaise closely with large clients on large projects.
  • A second language, preferably European.
About The Team
The Customer Engineering team is a key cog in the engine room of the over-arching customer success department. It’s a small team of 4 people spread over Europe, and you’ll be number 5. We have a great, friendly culture, and love to work hard while also having fun. Daily syncs aren’t a cut and dry affair of work, but a chance to connect, chat and laugh. We really pride ourselves on our culture, and when you join, we’ll whisk you off to London to meet us for a team offsite and onboarding, so we can all get to know each other quickly.
