The Role

Join our Marketing & Creative team at Shani Darden Skin Care! This role is responsible for crafting and executing our brand message on all social channels. The role reports to the brand’s founder, Shani Darden, with a dotted line to the Director, Production and sits within the marketing & creative organization.

We are searching for someone with a passion for skincare, understands how to articulate and amplify a founder’s point of view, has experience growing and owning social channels, and can thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. This role is perfect for anyone who thinks creating content is their “love language.”

The Social Media Coordinator/Manager (depending on experience and skillset) will work closely with brand founder to ensure that all content is authentic, inspiring, and engaging. The position requires a creative and proactive individual who has a strong aesthetic, is deadline-driven, and can work across multiple levels of approvals to plan and execute the agreed-upon social media strategy.

The Social Media Manager will create and develop the brand’s organic social media content, social media campaigns, curate brand UGC, and engage daily with a community of fans and customers on social media. This role interacts cross-functionally with marketing, public relations/influencer, sales, and eCommerce teams to support their respective objectives while ensuring consistency in the voice and tone of the brand.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for social media, skincare and luxury combined with business savvy and skills for engaging audiences in an authentic way through relevant social media content.

What You'll Do

Strategy

  • Plan, develop, and execute the social media strategy across existing and emerging channels, with particular focus on TikTok and Instagram
  • Maintain and own social content calendar to support the brand’s Founder voice and marketing initiatives, including developing content concepts from idea to completion.
  • Construct a well-devised social media plan and content framework that ties in with the brand’s awareness, engagement, educational and sales strategies.
  • Integrate business initiatives, product launches, and brand efforts into social media content and day- to-day storytelling.
  • Identify and present opportunities to and enrich content to grow engagement across platforms.

Execution

  • Story-tell and shoot social-first content (stills, video) to support an elevated, on-strategy flow of assets (with a focus on Instagram feed + stories, and TikTok)
  • Partner with Director, Production to capture and edit still/video content and draft copy for posts across owned channels.
  • Assist team in scripting and producing engaging, social-specific video content for social
  • Measure, analyze and report on performance across all brand-owned social platforms to
  • demonstrate steady growth and ensure optimization of content to meet business goals
  • Execute brand/founder partnership content creation
  • Execute retailer-specific content creation requests

Community Management

  • Respond to questions and comments with speed and judgment, escalating issues to consumer communications and/or legal as needed; identify trends in consumer comments and funnel information to the appropriate teams.

Who You Are

  • Creative, love to flex the creative part of your brain with demonstrated experience creating social content
  • Skilled at shooting stills and video that are on brand and socially native
  • Strong editing experience, graphics creation a plus
  • A natural storyteller, copywriter, great at coming up with short form copy
  • A self-starter who can take the ball and run with it
  • Extreme attention to detail is an absolute must

Education & Skills

  • 4+ years of social media management experience within editorial, a beauty or lifestyle brand
  • Passion for photography, iPhone photography and video, editing required
  • Strong in video editing, text, and subtitles, animations, or motion graphics to keep edits exciting,
  • fresh, and ahead of the trend
  • Exceptional writing skills and pay close attention to detail, grammar, and tone
  • Well-versed in social media metrics and monitoring tools, experience with Dash Hudson a plus
  • You have a strong grasp on the current social landscape including platform capabilities, trends, and
  • best practices for each individual major social platform
  • Experience within beauty industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent preferred
