Job Summary: A Product Operations Manager is responsible for establishing and scaling the operational infrastructure that enables product teams to deliver exceptional customer value. They work to build the processes, tools, and metrics frameworks that support agile product development while ensuring cross-functional alignment and data-driven decision-making. This role involves partnering with product, engineering, customer success, and go-to-market teams to streamline workflows, optimize tooling, and drive operational excellence across the product organization.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, communication rhythms, and documentation practices that scale with organizational growth across product lines.
  • Own the product metrics framework, defining and tracking key indicators including adoption, engagement, retention, and business impact to inform prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Build and optimize product operations infrastructure including roadmap management tools, release processes, sprint ceremonies, and stakeholder communication frameworks.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and improve collaboration between product, engineering, customer success, and sales.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage product management tooling (e.g., Jira, Productboard, Aha!) and analytics platforms to support agile development practices.
  • Translate product strategy into executable plans with clear milestones, success criteria, and visibility for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into product performance, team velocity, and customer outcomes.
  • Support product management maturity initiatives by documenting tribal knowledge, establishing ICP definitions, and creating standardized processes.
  • Facilitate product planning cycles, including OKR development, quarterly planning, and roadmap prioritization sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in product operations, technical program management, or related roles within B2B/enterprise software companies.
  • Deep understanding of agile product development methodologies and the full product development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience defining and tracking product metrics, building dashboards, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Strong proficiency with modern product management tools (Jira, Productboard, Aha!, Confluence) and analytics platforms (Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes that balance structure with team autonomy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience supporting product teams during periods of significant growth or organizational maturity improvements.
  • Preferred experience with AI/ML product operations or supporting teams building intelligent features.
  • Preferred experience in supply chain, packaging, manufacturing, or related industries.
