Full Stack AI Engineer

You'll be joining the Formulate team at Specright – an intelligent, AI-powered workspace for food
and beverage formula development. We're building a product that food and beverage
companies rely on daily. You'll work closely with product leads and other engineers, own
features end to end, and ship frequently. We have a strong team culture: code reviews,
mentorship, and direct feedback are how we grow together.
AI is core to our product – agents that guide users through complex formulation tasks, not
chatbots bolted on as an afterthought. You'll build and maintain the AI-powered features that
make the platform work.
What you'll do:
● Build agentic workflows using frameworks like OpenAI Agents SDK: designing
tool-calling flows, multi-agent orchestration, and structured reasoning pipelines
● Work with vector embeddings and semantic search to power intelligent matching and
retrieval
● Evaluate and select the right models for the job. Understand tradeoffs between GPT-5,
GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, and smaller/faster alternatives
● Write evaluation scripts and tests to keep AI features accurate, safe, and measurable
● Instrument AI calls with observability tooling: trace failures, monitor latency, track quality
over time
● Partner with product to scope experiments, ship fast, and learn from results
● 3+ years full-stack experience (React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL)
● Strong fundamentals. You can build a full feature from end to end (UI, APIs, agents,
tools, etc.), not just the AI part
● Hands-on experience building with agentic frameworks (OpenAI Agents SDK, AI SDK, or
similar)

● Experience with AI developer workflow tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) as part
of your coding process
● Experience building or maintaining eval systems for AI-powered features
● Stays current on new models, frameworks, and tooling – and knows when to adopt vs.
