About this role:

As a Legal Intern on our team, you will gain experience working with colleagues across our business to find thoughtful legal solutions to challenging business questions. Reporting to the Legal Director this position is located in Weee!’s corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA.

The successful candidate will work with in house counsel to provide a mix of both administrative and substantive legal support. This Legal intern will focus on Privacy Compliance initiatives based on an ongoing privacy Risk Register. The Legal intern will also provide assistance on various legal research projects and learn how to negotiate commercial contracts. This is an opportunity to gain experience at a startup and be part of a growing e-commerce grocery company with a great consumer brand.

This role offers compensation at the following rates: 1L: $25-35/hr; 2L: $30-40/hr. The position requires on-site presence at our Fremont office.

We are looking for a student with an interest in both corporate and litigation work with a desire to gain exposure in the following areas: commercial transactions, product counseling, food regulatory matters, real estate, and pre-litigation counseling. The candidate will also possess the following:

Qualifications

• JD candidate, 1L or 2L, and current student in an accredited law school.
• The tenacity to thrive in a start-up environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong analytical capabilities and judgment.
• Strong legal research skills with a fast turnaround presented in short memo form.
• Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented in a multilingual environment.
• Willingness to tackle matters outside the area of expertise.
• Willingness to commute to and from our corporate headquarters in Fremont, CA.
