As a Category Buyer for Refrigerated Product, you are responsible for the strategy and business results of your product subcategories. You will manage the buying of compelling assortments for our customers at Weee!, supervise category performance including expanding product selection, growing vendor relationships, developing marketing programs, driving sales and margin improvements, and providing exciting customer experiences. Responsibilities

• Food industry experience a must and prior experience with vendor partnerships
• Develop and implement category strategies to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
• Conduct market research and analysis to understand market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions.
• Drive sales and gross profit through the optimization of the product assortment in your category (Refrigerated Foods).
• Design strategic collaborative and development plans and partner with suppliers to achieve business goals.
• Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.
• Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3 + years of proven experience in merchandising, forecasting and product selection in food industry
• Experience developing strong business relationships with vendors and industry leaders
• Experience managing and creating new categories of business in an extremely competitive environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Self-starter, scrappy and resourceful
• Proactive thinker, with a strong work ethic and integrity

Compensation Range

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000-90,000
• This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
