About the Role
Weee! is seeking an experienced Senior Manager of PR & Communications to lead our public relations and communications strategy. This role will be pivotal in driving brand awareness, enhancing Weee!’s reputation, and fostering relationships with media outlets and influencers. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling narratives that highlight Weee!’s growth, innovation, and mission to celebrate Asian (and other ethnicities in the future) food and culture in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- PR Strategy Development: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive PR and communications strategy to promote Weee!’s brand, products, and leadership across national, regional and niche media.
- Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships and generate opportunities for coverage, with key media outlets, journalists, analysts and other thought leaders to ensure positive media coverage and ongoing media engagement.
- Building the Weee! Brand: Craft compelling brand narratives that highlight Weee!’s unique value proposition, growth trajectory, and leadership in the Asian e-commerce space.
- Leadership: Work closely with the Executive and Leadership team to develop thought leadership platforms, including media interviews, speaking engagements, and executive content.Train executives to deliver compelling and effective messaging in interviews and talks.
- Content Creation: Oversee the development of PR materials including press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, talking points, and other written communication.
- Campaign Management: Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms and to support PR initiatives with integrated campaigns where relevant
- Event Management: Coordinate PR for brand events, product launches, and community engagement initiatives, working closely with external partners.
- Media Monitoring: Analyze media coverage and PR performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimizing outreach and strategy. Identify, track and maintain a constant pulse on media trends in the online grocery industry
- Crisis Communication: Develop and implement a crisis communications playbook, ensuring swift and effective responses to any brand-related challenges or crises.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in PR and communications, preferably in ECommerce, retail or consumer led businesses.
- Prior experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment is a plus.
- Media Expertise: Proven success in securing media coverage across national, regional, and niche outlets. Strong relationships with U.S. media, especially in food, lifestyle, and tech sectors. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and trends
- Cultural Sensitivity: Deep understanding of and connection to Asian cultures and communities in the U.S. is highly preferred.
- Multilingual abilities (especially in Mandarin, Cantonese, or other Asian languages) are a plus.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, impactful messaging tailored to various audiences, aligning to the Weee! Brand. Ability to translate complex ideas and quantitative data into simple messages and soundbites
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire and influence individuals at all levels of an organization, both direct reports and cross-functional stakeholders, managing both internal and external resources effectively.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Crisis Management: Experience developing and executing crisis management and resolution plans, and demonstrated ability to navigate high-pressure situations

Compensation Range
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $149,000 - 175,000
- This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
